In config there are 3 options to choose from. Use the last one on people who seem to have an ISP with a wide range of numbers. This will give you optimal results. Remember, you control your own chat and have the ability to decide with whom you communicate. Don't respond to people that you don't want to have anything to do with. That will only give them the attention they desire. - Updated: September 13, 2002
Some clients, including some versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, are reported to display slightly aberrant behavior when opening multiple pages using the somewhat more efficient transfer modes offered by HTTP/1.1.
Use Advanced Options located on all entrances to choose HTTP/1.0 instead of HTTP/1.1 if your browser fails to display a chat window or closes its connection unexpectedly. I will force the server to use HTTP/1.0. - Updated: April 11, 2002
WHOIS button is revised to show Registered Name and Moderator status. I can also be used for exposing forged posts or imposters by verifying a registered name.
Examples: Registered name status: if there is a doubt that this person is using a registered name. (Forged posts)
Moderator status: can be used to verify that they are indeed a mod
There are other plans for the use of this button in the future. - Updated: April 11, 2002
Most simple HTML tags can be used in Chatropolis. Simply add the HTML code. It should look something like this:
<IMG SRC="http://aserver.com/nameoftheimage.jpg">
Substitute the appropriate URL in the example above.
You can also use the Toolbox to post a image in a room. Simply click on the Toolbox button to open it. Add in the URL of the pic http://aserver.com/nameoftheimage.jpg and click on Link. It will automatically put the correct HTML code in your Message Bar. Hit Submit and your pic will post in the room. - Updated: June 19, 2004
Do not add the HTML for post colors at the entrance. Only enter the HTML for your name and av (if you use one). Once in the room, click on Config, Message Prefix is where you enter your HTML codes for the posts. You only need to do this once. - Updated: April 7, 2002
Selecting the MEMBER radio button on the room entry pages forces Members to enter their correct login information. This is partly a diagnostic tool for support and to let users immediately know if they are entering their member information incorrectly. Remember USERNAMES/PASSWORDS are case sensitive and have no spaces. Selecting GUESTon the room entry pages allows guest access for non-members. - Updated: October 22, 2001
All Staff and Contact Information is listed on the Staff Page To call a Trustee, simply click on the Mod button located in the bottom frame of your chat screen and send a telegraph. Please fill out enough information so they can find you. - Updated: April 7, 2002

Choose the name on the list and click on Listen to only see that person's posts. It is similiar to having a private chat without leaving the room. You will not see any posts from anyone but the name you selected until you select the name again and click on Listen to reverse it. - Updated: October 22, 2001
It is a refined Ignore feature allowing you to completely ignore a person's posts. Simply select the name on the list and click on Squelch. You will not see any posts from that person until you un-squelch the name by selecting the name again and clicking on Squelch.. - Updated: April 7, 2002
Verbose puts a line between posts for easier reading. It also can be used to expose forged posts in a room since they will be contained within the same lines as the original post for a user. - Updated: October 22, 2001
You must have Java Script selected for it to work. You will find that in your Preferences, Tools, or Options located in your browser. - Updated: October 22, 2001
Most simple HTML tags can be used in Chatropolis. If you would like to add an image to appear before your screen name in a chat room simply add the appropriate HTML before your screen name on the entry form. It should look something like this.
MY SCREEN NAME <IMG SRC="http://aserver.com/myavatar.jpg">
Of course you'll need to replace the URL with the correct information. - Updated: October 22, 2001
If you use the font tag in the chat rooms users can only see fonts that reside locally on their system. So if you use a font that comes with the base install of Win9X such as Arial, they will most likely see it. But if you use a font that you just downloaded chances are they can't view it. - Updated: October 22, 2001
