| Clients have a choice of operating in connected and disconnected modes. Connected mode maintains an open connection with the browser and is the preferred mode in most cases. For clients who cannot support an open connection, or who cannot display frames, disconnected mode provides an interface they can use to join the chat. Examples of such clients are Lynx, NCSA Mosaic, and the WebTV browser. The config interface contains options that affect disconnected mode. "Refresh Interval" is the number of seconds between automatic reloads of the chat page, and "Stored Messages" controls how many messages are displayed on the screen. |
